Petz Citizen Scheme

The Petz Citizen Scheme was created by Nebula @ Poppyhill

While there are various show types across the PC for your petz to earn titles, the Petz Citizen Scheme aims to fill the niche for a non-competitive title that can be completed at your own pace. It revisits and promotes foundational skills, and assigns tasks that reflect the old-school 'grass-roots' play style, inspired by the UK Kennel Club's Good Petz Citizen Scheme and modelled on PKC's previous Petz Citizen Scheme.

The premise of the title is to encourage honing a strong working partnership with your petz and fostering a stronger bond with them, through goal-oriented tasks!

The titles are not earned with a point system like with agility or pose shows, better likened to obedience/puppy classes or an additional certificate. Set tasks are completed to the best of the pet's ability, then approved by an examiner to progress to the next title in the 'tier'.

This scheme is open to all petz ; hexed, brexed, various species.

Tasks are to be completed based on their base species (catz/dogz).

General

There are 4 titles offered with this scheme!
Our bulletin board outlines the (age) prerequisites for each
Your adult pet needn't complete their FBC, they can start from Bronze → Gold!

Title Naming

The titles will exist as the suffix to your petz' shownames/callnames.
Your petz can attempt one title at a time, then once that title is earned, progress to the next!
The suffix will be updated as your pet progresses BPC -> GPC
The FBC title however will exist as a standalone one next to their adult PCS titles, and can be completed at any time given they meet the age prerequisite (an existing adult pet may be aged down to complete this title!)

Rules & Submission Guidelines

Rules

  • In the spirit of the scheme, please take new photos for these tasks, not using old/pre-existing ones!
  • Up to 3 petz submissions may be posted at a time, and next title attempted only after fulfilling prerequisites!
  • No editting (adding items/other petz, shading/eyeshines, etc.) beyond the simple collaging for the submission itself.
  • Bows, collars/bandanas and certain headwear permitted given they don't obscure the pet’s face/body.
No other worn clothing items or accessories (no glasses, shirts, pants, etc.)
  • White plain background or transparent background (with Prism's Petz A) for pictures.

Guidelines

  • Titles must be approved before progression to the next.
  • Collage the tasks - this can be done very simply in programs such as MS paint, or Photoshop!
  • PFM or hexed toys / brushes / balls etc. may be used, given they fit within the context!
  • Expression/body language should be neutral (or neutral-alert) as possible, not angry, sleepy or shocked/terrified. Some breeds/SCPs have naturally scared or angry eyelids - they will not be faulted, rather assessed on general body language. The exception to the angry expression is for catz in tasks involving toys, though a neutral/happy expression is preferred.
  • Whenever applicable, direction of movement is Left → Right across the screen (eg running/trotting).
For sitting, laying, recall/retrieve: body positioned squarely as possible toward the camera is preferred.
  • Generally, pet's gaze should be either focused on the handler or directly ahead of them (eg running with the SPC/GPC tasks).
  • The task should be performed and presented in an clear manner, and pet's face mostly visible and task easily identified.
  • No clothing items that obscure the pet.
