Breedfile Acceptance
This page details the requirements for both submitting a request for a standard change, and for submitting a new hexed breedfile for UKC acceptance. Submissions for both of these can be made on the Petz Life forum's Update Requests board.
Standard Changes
UKC allows members to submit requests for breed standard requests and additions, however we require a standard reference from an authorised real-life showing organisation, plus photographs of real animals that have been shown in conformation (preferably conformation champions). Below are details of the real-life showing organisations that we accept as references, as well as the form and guidelines for submitting a standard change request.
Breed standards are accepted from:
- Dogz: FCI, AKC, KC, CKC, UKC (not preferred). Other clubs may be accepted if you can provide a good argument
- Catz: FIFe, CFA, TICA, CAA, GCCF. Other clubs may be accepted if you can provide a good argument
Requests based on UKC (United Kennel Club, the real life showing organisation) or clubs not mentioned above can be made, but they will have to be well evidenced and strong. These clubs are best used to provide further evidence for requests based on the named clubs.
Standard update request form:
- Request: [describe request]
- Breed/Doc: [link or describe breed or UKC standard doc you want to be updated]
- Evidence: [provide evidence for you request. Ideally, your evidence will include multiple clear images of champions displaying your request, as well as a link to a breed standard that states it. If you can't find an image of a champion, an image of a dog/cat that has placed in a show at some point is the second best option. You can still make a request without photo evidence! Photo evidence just makes it's more likely to be acceped! See above for accepted standard sources]
Breedfile Acceptance
The requirements for getting a new hexed filed to be accepted for conformation showing at UKC are as follows:
- You may submit files from other hexers if they are not longer playing Petz. If they are still playing, ask their permission before submitting on their behalf
- Files must be publicly available. If their original download location is no longer available, a good alternative it to upload them to the Department of Petz Preservation
- Files must be a good representation of the breed for the style it's hexed in. UKC won't expect files to be pixel perfect, but it does expect general body shape, proportions, etc to be accurate and polished. You may be asked to make changes to the file before it is accepted
- Files must have at least one A-reg colour variation
- Needs a good pose from an A-reg pet for the example photo for the breed page. The pose does not need to be perfect, but should sucessfully demonstrate what the breed looks like. For dogz, the most flattering pose type for the file should ideally be used
- In addition to the pose for the example photo, please include the following photos. You may include other photos in addition if you wish to showcase any other elements (e.g. movement, wearing clothes, etc).
- For dogz, a dali/dane pose (whichever isn't in the pose example photo)
- Examples of all structural variations (e.g. ruffs, tails, legs, etc) - if lots of variations, you may want to edit all the photos into a single image
Below is a list of balls that must not be omitted, plus some guidance for addball ears and tails:
- Chin: Must not be omitted, as then petz can't pick items up
- Eyes: Must not be omitted to avoid eyeless petz when crossing files
- Toes/Fingers: Must not be omitted to avoid pawless petz when crossing files
- Whole sections: It's not accepted to omit, for example, the whole body or the full legs and make full addballz ones; but you can use addballz to build on the basic ballz
- Ears/Tail: Addballz ones are accepted, be sure body areas are set properly to avoid double ears/tails or lack of them when breeding the file
Please use this form when submitting a breedfile for acceptance:
